De Chirico, Tomea, De Pisis, Burri, Fontana, Campigli, Simonetti, Tancredi, Manzoni, Severini, Afro Basaldella. These are some of the great names of the Italian painting of the twentieth century protagonists of the exhibition to be held from October 3 to 6 January 2016, at the Palazzo delle Contesse, in the historic center of Mel (BL) on the initiative of Pro Loco Zumellese, association with a solid experience in the organization of important art exhibitions. The project, shared with the municipal administration, intends to revisit the paths of Italian art in the fifty years that go from 1914 to 1964, a period of history marked by two world wars and the reconstruction that followed. Hence the title of an exhibition that, for the richness and value of the exhibits, will attract the attention of fans from all over Italy: "The years of war and reconstruction."

In this half century of profound historical changes, we see a constant interplay between the innovative proposals and destabilizing the vanguards and the consecrated fidelity to classical matrix of our culture, characteristic of the current more conservative. "A plot - says Giovanni Granzotto, curator of the exhibition - which has often been facilitated and supported by artists who walked both ways, coma Balla, De Chirico or Soffici, or they have set as a filter or a link between different poles, if not opposed, as Virgilio Guidi. The exhibition Mel does not pretend to exhaust scientifically a path so complex, yet critical to all modern art, but aims to provide an insight into some extraordinary moments innovative and reflective of Italian production of a common thread often truly amazing. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to see together some works of the masters of the avant-gardes of this half century, as well as the main representatives of the tradition. "
