Historic building in the heart of the Dolomites
Villa Francescon, historic residence dating back to the fourteenth century, offers you the opportunity to spend your holiday immersed in beautiful tranquility, nature and culture. The frescoes that emerge, both inside and outside the house, will make your stay in the Dolomites even more unique. Furthermore, the large gardens at your disposal will guarantee you unforgettable days.
A splendid historic residence, also known as Palazzo Barbuio-Gaio, which overlooks the main square of Mel di Borgo Valbelluna. The building consists of a central body dating back to the fourteenth century and a wing, facing via Mazzini, added at a later time. The complex, recognized as a national heritage, is one of the oldest buildings in the village and is of great historical and artistic interest. The facade facing the square is also painted with sixteenth-century frescoes attributed to the painter Pomponio Amalteo, while other paintings later were found in the internal rooms.

Where we are
Villa Francescon is an ancient residence overlooking the main square of Mel in the heart of Valbelluna. An ancient village rich in history and sites to visit (eg the nearby Castle of Zumelle). The area is an ideal starting point for naturalistic excursions in the Dolomites National Park and for excursions, on foot, by bicycle or on skis, along the still uncontaminated Piave Valley to be discovered and among the Dolomite peaks.

The owners, truly exquisite people, who, with a welcome of rare cordiality, made our stay unforgettable.
A dwelling of valuable historical and architectural value, embellished with a furniture in line with the value of the dwelling.
A really thorough cleaning despite the very spacious and large rooms. Without forgetting the garden and the outdoor spaces, which made our dinners really pleasant, with the possibility of using every part of the garden to have breakfast and read a book in peace.
The affectionate owners have remained in our hearts who have made available to us the electric bicycles they had, as well as the excellent bottles of prosecco they produce.

Very nice and large accommodation with a beautiful garden. A historic Italian villa with a lot of charm located in the center of the village of Mel. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and straightforward and the family lives next door. We felt very comfortable. The bathrooms have been recently refurbished, the WiFi works perfectly, kitchen, washing machine and everything important is available. We were allowed to take regional food and be taken on a shopping tour so that we could buy all the goodies. Recipes and lunch were offered. Thanks for the fun.
