Hiking and mountain biking tours through the Italian Alps

During a vacation in one of our antique houses is possible devote some time to the exploration of Dolomites near Belluno through hiking, bicycling and mountain biking tours. The Dolomites area, indeed, offers various panoramas and environments that share the same outstanding beauty: woods, lakes, valleys, rock faces, paths and pasture lands. It's not a coincidence, then, that these Italian mountains have been declared a World Heritage Site.

The Dolomites range includes some important peaks such as Marmolada, Civetta, Three Peaks of Lavaredo, Tofane, Sorapis and Croda Rossa d’Ampezzo: perfect destinations for sports enthusiastic and mountain lovers. Here, indeed, are available kilometres of mountain biking paths and trekking trails with different levels of difficulty. Do you prefer water sports? Lakes and rivers offer many opportunities to swim, fish or go canoeing.

Among the most famous and interesting trekking trails offer by this area, we have chosen: the Pelmo mountain route (3.168 metres a.s.l.) that offers a glimpse on wonderful landscapes, the “via ferrata” on Marmolada (3.343 metres a.s.l.) the most evocative and hard path on the Dolomites (required climbers, pickaxe, climbing harness and ropes) and, finally, the hiking path to Bureloni’s peak (3.130 metres a.s.l.), always spellbinding and fascinating.

Dolomites near Belluno offer many mountain bike or bicycle routes, such as: the Long Way of Dolomites (Belluno and Bolzano provinces) probably the most extraordinary cycling itinerary in Italy with evocative ad unique panoramas; the Great Cycling Route of Cansiglio-Cavallo, a 150 kilometres trail through Treviso, Pordenone and Belluno provinces, it offers various and interesting landscapes, finally the Revine Lake-Col Visentin-Nevegal-Valmorel-San Boldo tour, a demanding path, better for mountain bikers, due to the hard climbs on the Pre-Alps and the long dirt patches.
